About Norm Meech

Norm Meech is a first-time author and a full-time police officer who has spent over 40 years with three different police agencies in the province of Ontario, Canada. During his career, Norm spent more than 14 years working on criminal investigations.

Although this is a fictional novel, Norm wanted to write about what it is like to conduct a homicide investigation, and to show how police officers are affected by tragedies as much as civilians are. Police see the worst part of society at much closer range than most people, which puts them at risk for elevated instances of substance abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder. In this book, Norm wanted to expose why this is so, and to underline the drive and determination police officers have despite the sometimes- crushing demands of the job.

Norm believes that one of the greatest honours a police officer can have is to be responsible for investigating the death of another human being, and to bring closure to the families of the victims of homicide and other violent crimes.
